FLOWERS FOR OUR ELDERS
What it's About
Flowers for Our Elders is a project I have been working on for a while now. I started this project because I wanted to target the loneliness that elders experience in nursing homes. My project involves visiting our local nursing homes and bringing them joy. An example of making this happen is by gifting them fake plants that I have made that also have nice notes attached to them, and visiting with them.
In addition, a couple of days a month, I hope to visit the nursing home residents, and to organize and lead games and crafts, such as ornament painting, caroling, spider painting, bingo, etc.
Funding
For my funding, I have a donation jar at the Osceola lanes and a GoFundMe at Flowers For Our Elders. The funds I get form the donations will be used to purchase supplies, such as craft supplies, games, and prizes. Any extra donations that I have, I will donate it to our local nursing homes.
Resources
There are many people and businesses helping me with my project. The Osceola Lanes by allowing me to set up my donation jars, and of course all of you by donating either on my GoFundMe or in my jars.
Goals
My goal is to help elders living in nursing homes who are suffering from loneliness.
